Magnetic Attraction

About 2 years ago I was told about the Law of Attraction by a friend who recommended that I buy a copy of a DVD called the Secret. I watched it every day for about a week, and then decided to put into practice some of the recommendations – one of which was to use a vision board. This is a board that you pin pictures to of whatever you would like in life, like a lovely home, an Aston Martin or Ferrari, a guchi watch. I chose to put a picture of George Clooney on my board, at the time I recall thinking – I’d like a man who has eyes like George and look’s as good as he does. I also remember thinking ‘I know he isn’t available’. The picture I had of George was taken when he was appearing in the television drama E.R. and he was wearing the ‘scrubs’ uniform.

A few weeks later I was on a course in Scotland. I walked into the building and was introduced to the other people on the course, and I was very pleased and impressed to be seated next to an American man who looked incredibly like George Clooney!

Next day when I walked into the breakfast room I sat down next to the George ‘look-alike’ and couldn’t help but notice that he was wearing ‘scrubs’.  Apparently he used to work in a hospital in America (he found them very comfortable to wear).  I have a photo on my phone to prove this happened because I thought ‘no one will believe me!’

We are still good friends today – unfortunately for me, just like I said when I pinned the picture to the vision board ‘he wasn’t available’, he was in fact recently married. What did I learn from this? ‘Be careful what you think when you ask for something!’

Many of us have stories that illustrate how we have inadvertently attracted either someone or something into our lives – we usually think they are strange coincidences. I believe differently now, because I have had experiences that prove that we do attract all kinds of experiences, and this sometimes depends on what we have been thinking and wishing for.

I believe that we are like big magnets, attracting people, situations, experiences and things into our lives, and sometimes it’s not what we would want or enjoy!

We are beginning to realise that ‘what we put out is what we get back’. When you wake up in the morning and ‘get out of bed the wrong side’, and from there on it’s all downhill: someone ate all your breakfast cereal, the dogs been sick on the new rug, everything you consider wearing has either got a stain on it, it’s in the washing, or the zip is broken! Then every set of traffic lights are red on the way to work.

You’ve experienced a day like that haven’t you?  We all have, and usually it doesn’t get better as the day goes on.

Another day, you wake up a little early, the sun is shining and you feel good. Then you walk into the kitchen and read a note that says ‘the cat was sick on the rug but I cleaned it up’
You find something nice to wear in the wardrobe that you’d forgotten about – and it looks good. All the traffic lights are on green today, and you get a convenient parking place when you arrive! The rest of the day is a breeze….

Is it coincidence, did these things happen by accident or is there something else going on that we don’t quite understand?

Energy and vibrations

When we are in the positive thinking zone, and we feel confident about ourselves and the world around us things rarely go wrong, and if they do we quickly cope with the
‘hick-up’ and move on to the next thing. We don’t let minor things get us down.

Sports people are like this, you notice when you watch Wimbledon tennis, how the positive player has a determined, resilient attitude and lost points don’t get them down. Whereas another player will start getting cross with themselves, and a dark worried expression is on their face, you can almost read their thoughts, this kind of attitude usually loses them the game.
